Oak Grading

Unfortunately there are big differences in quality standards between rough oak and oak parquet: rough oak is qualified according to QFA standards (QF-1a - QF-4), whereas parquet uses the following standards: Excellent, A, B, Rustic, etc. The QF-standards tell us how many knots are allowed in a plank, how big these knots may be, the allowed amount of sapwood and the allowed amount of boxed heart.

Every floor-factory has their own standards, but we have made a transition table between the QF-standards and the grading used for parquet. This table is shown below.
